1kg, £1.29 (£1.29 per kg)
Chunky, long cut and substantial chips. Extra starch boosts the crispiness, while paprika and turmeric bring a subtle seasoning and enhanced flavour.
They looked good and tasted delicious – golden, hearty and appetising. And all at a great price!
1.45kg, £3.75 (£2.59 per kg)
Multiple ingredients (11 instead of the usual three) give these a distinctive flavour. The lightly battered coating delivers a satisfying crispness along with a golden colour and tasty seasoning.
The inside remains soft and fluffy, making for a well-balanced and delicious chip.
950g, £2.65 (£2.79 per kg)
These were impressively plump with a crispy, nicely browned exterior and a soft, fluffy inside. The light flour coating adds crispiness, while the subtle seasoning is pleasant without being overpowering.
The price is a bit steep though.
1kg, £3.20
Neatly uniform in size, but slightly less plump than some others, they still delivered a delicious fluffy interior that separated nicely from the golden, crispy exterior. Extra ingredients enhance the flavour, colour and crunch.
A delicious staple but at a high price.
1.5kg, £2.65 (£1.80 per kg)
Well-priced chips with an excellent texture and a variety of different sizes, which give a homemade feel.
They were fluffy on the inside while plump and crispy on the outside.
900g, £1.75 (£1.94 per kg)
With a good texture, these long and nicely cut chips deliver on appearance and crisp up well in the oven, turning a lovely golden brown.
They fall a bit short on overall flavour though, lacking the depth of taste to match an otherwise solid performance.
750g, £2 (£2.67 per kg)
Mixed in size, a bit on the thin side, and ultimately not as crispy as they look.
The texture was disappointingly chewy, and while the potato had a satisfying flavour, it was rather soggy and heavy.
