Dr Mark Porter dives into the health issues affecting us all in the new podcast from Saga.
At Saga, we love listening to podcasts. Whether it’s the latest political news, something to make us laugh or an in-depth chat, they are increasingly part of our daily routine.
Last year, we launched our own, Experience is Everything – where household names discuss the lessons life has taught them. After the huge success of that, we are now thrilled to announce our new series, Experience is Everything: The Health Edition.
Hosted by our health columnist Dr Mark Porter, each episode sees him chat with an expert as they dive deep into essential topics to help you keep fit, healthy and happy as you get older.
“I am delighted to be behind a microphone again for this new series,” says Dr Mark. “We will be getting an expert view of common health problems – everything from hair loss in women and insomnia, to high blood pressure and PSA testing for prostate.”
The launch episode is all about blood pressure, with Dr Mark speaking to Dr Pauline Swift, consultant nephrologist and chair of the charity Blood Pressure UK.
In it, she gives tips on how to lower your blood pressure, why you shouldn't be afraid of taking tablets and the one thing you need to cut out of your diet.
Saga Magazine’s editorial director Louise Robinson says: “We are thrilled that our resident doctor is the host of our new health podcast. Dr Mark will bring his years of experience and expertise as he delves into the health issues affecting our listeners and readers.
"I had the pleasure of listening to the first episode and it’s not to be missed.”
