What costs are involved with Saga Equity Release?
- Advice fees - Saga Equity Release is a no-obligation, no-pressure service dedicated to finding out if equity release is right for you. The product available through Saga Equity Release is the Saga Lifetime Mortgage, provided by Just. You’ll only need to pay an advice fee of £799 if you decide to proceed and take out a Saga Lifetime Mortgage. A lifetime mortgage is a type of loan secured against your home and will reduce the value of your estate and your entitlement to state benefits may be affected.
- Saga Lifetime Mortgage features - Some of the features of the exclusive Saga Lifetime Mortgage are subject to terms and conditions. Please make sure you are aware of them and if you have any questions the Saga Equity Release team will be happy to answer them. Details of how to get in touch can be found on our contact us page.
- Specialist report - If a specialist report is required by Just, you will need to cover the cost of this. This type of report is usually only required if the property valuer has any concerns about damp, surrounding trees or the structure of the property.
- Solicitor/Legal fees - As with all mortgages, you will need a solicitor. They will provide you with independent advice and carry out the necessary legal work required. Fees vary depending on the amount of legal work required. You may be able to find a solicitor offering a fixed fee service. On average you can expect to pay around £750 for their services.
- Set-up and valuation fees - With the Saga Lifetime Mortgage there are no product set-up or valuation fees to worry about.
